Hello all!
I've read 27 books so far in 2021 and i have thoughts! (i'm also 12 books ahead of schedule on my Goodreads challenge so woohoo!)
This are in no particular order!
From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout
erm. This one i gave 5 stars because the writing was phenomenal. However the content was a little graphic?? A lot actually. There were several scenes i could have lived without and curse words are uttered throughout. The story was amazing so i will probably read the second book.
Half Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout
i actually read this one before Blood and Ash. And i'm literally realizing just now that its by the same author..... I enjoyed this one very much. It fed my Greek Mythology obsessed self and it was a really interesting story concept.
Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout
This is the sequel to the above book and i read this one in like 4 hours. All i can say is that i really hate love triangles....
Lovely War by Julie Berry
AUTOMATIC FIVE STARS!!!! Greek Mythology AND set in the WW2 setting. This books was so good!
A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair
A Hades and Persephone retelling. It was interesting? Hades is like a mob boss kind of guy and Persephone is a college student. I've read better but it was interesting.
The Camdyn series by Christina Coryell
I read this series in 4 days. i reread the first books cause i hadn't read it since i was 16 and i wanted to see if i still liked it. And then i found out it was a series! so i eagerly devoured the rest of the books and i enjoyed them immensely!
Blood for Blood by Ryan Graudin
I reread the first book back in late December and got this one in early January to reread and oof.... I love it but also hate it.
Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guilory
This one is an older romance book. The main couple is in their late 50s. i enjoyed it. It wasn't my favorite but i didn't dislike it.
You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle
This book made me laugh so hard. I enjoyed the heck out of this book and will definitely be adding it to the books i want to buy.
The Legend series by Marie Lu
I've been told by so many people to read this over the years. And finally i broke down and binge read it in a weekend. And holy heck. People were right, it was amazing. However THE ENDING OF THE LAST BOOK ALMOST MADE ME CHUCK MY PHONE ACROSS MY ROOM. THE AUDACITY *ahem* i am calm now
Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren
Friends to lovers. the cutest trope but not my favorite (points to anyone who can guess what my fav is) It was a cute books but only a 3 star for me
House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
this one was a reread for me and i loved it just as much as the first time. Content warning: there is a lot of swearing and provocative talk.
A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow by Laura Taylor Namey
Its like Anna and the French Kiss but with a Cuban protaganist. i loved it and it made me very hungry for pastries.
The Captive Kingdom by Jennifer Nielson
The False Prince trilogy is one of my favorites so of course i had to read this book. I love Jaron so much and he definitely didn't disappoint :) Also the fact i have to wait til October for the next one 😤😤😤
An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
It took me a bit to get into this one but i really liked it! I totally thought that it was a series but noo it is a stand alone.
The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver
This was a heavy book. Dealing with depression and grief. I'm glad i read it tho!
Today, Tonight, Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon
We love a good scavenger hunt romance. It was a little too high school-y for me. But i enjoyed it!
Say You Still Love Me by K.A Tucker
I expected more from this than i got :(
Of Literature and Lattes by Katherine Reay
I enjoyed this a lot but i like Dear Mr. Knightley from this author :D
The Duke and I by Julia Quinn
I binge watched Bridgerton on Netflix so i decided to read the books as well! i would have prefered it without the scenes but it was good!!!
And there you have it!! What have you been reading lately?
Love,
Lia

Ooo these all sound so good. I just finished A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik and If We Were Villian's by M. L Rio
ReplyDeleteBoth were dark academia and had questionable morals and such. But I loved them!
oooooh We Were Villians is on my TBR!!
DeleteAck I'm reading Lovely War right now! I saw your five stars on Goodreads and then when I saw it was WWI + Greek gods I was automatically sold. Am only like 50 pages in but enjoying it so far! The fact that Apollo has a fuchsia bow tie and a pin striped suit makes me really happy for some reason.
ReplyDeleteITS SO GOOD!! i can't wait to hear what you think of it!!
DeleteOOH these all sound interesting!!
ReplyDeleteThey were!!
DeleteI haven't read most of these, but I've really enjoyed An Enchantment of Ravens and Of Literature and Lattes (although I definitely like Dear Mr. Knightly better. :)). Fun to hear your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteDear Mr Knightley was definitely my favorite of the two as well!!!
Delete*gasps* YOU READ LOVELY WAR???? AND YOU LIKED IT? That was one of my top books of 2020. It's just SO GOOD. I will never stop squealing about it.
ReplyDeleteRecently, I've kind of been on a Jane Austen kick. I just finished Pride and Prejudice, and now I'm reading Mansfield Park (and I'm not totally sure what I think about it, but, then again, I've only read about twenty pages so far). I also just read Entwined, and I really loved it.
LOVELY WAR WAS SO GOOD!!!!! and oooh! ive actually only read P&P so i definitely need to read her other books!!
DeleteI have read none of these. XD Some have caught my attention now, though! I'm currently rereading The Lunar Chronicles! Would you still be interested in a collab. like we mentioned last April?
ReplyDeleteFriends to lovers isn't my favorite, either. Let me guess, do you like enemies to lovers better? That's the best for me!
I’d 100% be interested!! You have my email right?
DeleteAnd yes, enemies to lovers is my favorite 😂
