first of all, we should wish a very happy birthday to Percy Jackson. (he would be 28 today :D)

And secondly, we must wish a very happy first birthday to my book. For the Broken Heart, For the Broken Girl.

Its been one year guys. A year full of happiness and sadness and many things i could not even imagine. I put my soul into these pages and to see the reactions of people who have read have made me feel such happiness knowing that maybe i'm not such a screwup.

Those of you who have read it, i love you very much and thank you for supporting me. And for those who haven't, i really love for you to give it a chance. I sell copies of it on my Etsy shop if you would like to!

Thank you guys for the best year of my life and i can't wait to see what the future years bring for this little collection <3

OH MY GOSH!!!!

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!

August 18, 2020. My book is finally in your hands. <3 Well.. I suppose you'd have to order it first unless you got the Kindle version and its on that!!

Anyway, i'm not making any dang sense... I hope you love this book as much as i do. I hope it makes you feel things. I hope it cheers you up on your bad days, i hope it brings you comfort to know that you're not alone. <3

Split into two parts, For the Broken Heart, For the Broken Girl, is a raw collection chronicling the author's late teens. The first section, For the Broken Heart, focuses on falling for the wrong guy and the slow steady path to healing. For the Broken Girl focuses on the author's struggle with depression and learning that she doesn't need to carry the burden by herself.

For the Broken Heart, For the Broken Girl is a Lia Marie's first poetry collection.

the way i acted around him

most thought me to be a lamb

when he broke me

i bared my teeth

and revealed the wolf

the one thing

i can never forgive

is that your ruined all my favorite songs

perhaps i deserve this

Greetings from the cave!

Catherine Hawthorn here, crashing into Lia’s blog for the day to tell you why you... should buy her poetry collection when it’s published on August 18!

So I admit that I am not a poetry lover by default.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have a problem with poetry. I’ve even written a line or three myself. But I’m not one of those people that actively seeks out poetry collections.

This collection, For the Broken Heart, For the Broken Girl, has seriously changed my mind.

Before, poetry didn’t appeal to me because... Most of what I found was just sentiment, or feeling, or, dare I say, fluff.

Lia’s poems though, have a story. It’s like microfiction, even. Stories and feelings about her own personal life that even I didn’t know about. And I’m practically her sister!

Besides there being a great story, I’m also looking for a cadence or beauty behind the words. I’m more of a traditional poetry girl, with rhymes and rhythms. Lia’s poetry is free verse and unconventional. So why do I love it so?

It’s the passion behind the words. The tone is blunt, and it just cuts right through ya. They’re not rants, they’re cries. It really makes you take heed of what the author is really saying.

In other words...this stuff matters.

So to make a long story short, if this poetry collection, which is so out of my “normal” comfort zone, is now a favorite for me, then you should read it too!

Hello all!

Welcome to the first post in the weekend of For the broken heart, for the broken girl. I am very excited to begin and can't wait for my book to finally be in your hands!!

Without further ado then!

Awkward

-for the last few weeks, everything had gone wrong and you can't help but feel that you shouldn't even publish this book... haha its fine

-i've read the dang thing so many times i could recite it in my sleep..

-when people you know at church know about it O.O

-having a burst of inspiration and resisting the urge to add like 50 more poems to it...

-realizing that in 4 days, i'm gonna be a published author O.O

Awesome

-the support i've received from my family and friends and, of course, all of you has been the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me and i'm so grateful to all of you!

-i've had to opportunity to connect with other self published poetry authors :)

-y'all are gonna get to hold my book in your hands!!!

-getting to plan some fun things for the future!

-realizing that in 4 days, i'm gonna be a published author :D

Hello all!

i have participated in many a cover reveal over the years, but it is with great excitement that i am able to reveal my own cover for my poetry collection.

But first i would like to thank MK for designing this cover for me and to Brooke for designing the graphics for this post. <3

There are so many other people who i could thank for the production of this book but before i break down into a puddle of happy tears, i'll save that for a later post :D

Hey guys!!

So. I have been writing a poetry collection for the past 6 months. And this process has been the most therapeutic and freeing experience. But also pretty scary. i sent out the first draft to my alphas a couple weeks ago. I was so nervous to send it because I've put little pieces of myself into it and sending it meant that they would see me. Like really see me. And it was terrifying.

The feedback that I've received has been so amazing. I got so much positivity from my alphas and i'm so grateful for each and every one of you. Love you all!!

But the true reason i am writing this, is to reveal to you the title and mock cover of my collection. i created it myself and i am so exciting to share it with you!
